Balloon Artist & Installation Assistant

Job Type: Part-time

Hours: Thu/Fri/Sat/Sun, 9AM-2PM

Pay: $18-22/hour

Work Location: In person (Chesterland studio & on site throughout the region)

We're looking for a creative, reliable, and upbeat team member to join the Extra Betty team! If you love hands-on work, making magic happen, and turning ordinary spaces into balloon-filled wonderlands, this one’s for you.

​

You’ll help build, prep, and install epic balloon designs, from studio assembly to on-site set-ups. You'll work with our design team to bring visions to life and make clients smile (and snap pics!).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Balloon Fabrication & Assembly (We’ll Teach You!)

Inflate and build balloon garlands, columns, walls, and other designs using latex, foil, and specialty balloons.
Ensure every piece meets our high quality and safety standards.

  • Miscellaneous Fabrication

We're always trying something new at Extra Betty! You'll work with foam board, vinyl and more to create all of those details our clients love!

  • Studio Organization & Maintenance

Keep our Chesterland studio clean and organized. Help manage balloon inventory, supplies, and equipment.

  • Quality Control

Inspect balloons for damage before use, ensure they’re properly inflated, tied, and secured for long-lasting installs.

  • Installation Prep & Support

Prep balloon installs for delivery and help with loading/unloading. Support on-site installations, including some physical labor (lifting, carrying, etc.).

  • Delivery & On-Site Setup

Safely transport balloon arrangements and install them at client locations with precision and care. Make sure everything is secure, aligned to specs, and photo-ready!

  • LED Marquee Installation

Work alone or with a partner to install our 3' LED letters, numbers and symbols to client specifications. (will train!)

  • Client Interaction & Service

Greet clients with a smile, answer questions, and help ensure the final result matches their vision. Occasionally assist in helping clients choose balloon options for events.

  • Problem Solving & Troubleshooting

Handle any balloon mishaps or last-minute adjustments with professionalism and a can-do attitude.

  • Safety & Equipment Care

Follow safety guidelines during transportation and installation. Help maintain delivery vehicles and tools.

  • Post-Event Breakdown (When Applicable)

Assist with takedowns, safely disassembling balloon & LED displays and returning materials to the studio.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience (Preferred, Not Required):

Experience in delivery, event setup, or customer service is a plus—but we’re happy to train the right go-getter with a positive attitude!

  • Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, work in varied indoor/outdoor event environments, and be comfortable using a ladder.

  • Attention to Detail:

A keen eye for detail is key to creating polished, photo-worthy installs. You’ll need to inspect and maintain balloon quality from start to finish.

  • Driving & Organization:

A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required. Must be punctual, reliable, and able to follow routes and schedules with ease.

  • Team Player Energy:

Must work well with others, follow instructions, and bring good vibes to every install. We value collaboration and a strong work ethic.

  • Professionalism:

You’ll represent Extra Betty on-site, so a friendly, respectful, and polished demeanor is essential when interacting with clients and vendors.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with balloon installation (e.g., garlands, columns, walls) is a plus, especially within the event or décor industry—but not required. We’re happy to train the right candidate!
